Q1. What is the material composition and durability of ShadeNet?
The ShadeNet is guaranteed for at least 8 years against UV degradation and is manufactured from knitted HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), treated for UV radiation.
Q2. Will the color fade?
All colors are pigmented with a light fastness of 7 to 8, which has the highest resistance to fading. The ShadeNet is guaranteed against fading.
Q3. Can the structure withstand wind damage?
All structures are designed to comply with local conditions and building codes.
Q4. Will it rust in a coastal installation?
Coastal installations have no effect on the ShadeNet. All metal components are hot-dip galvanized to minimize corrosion.
Q5. What if the fabric tears or gets damaged?
The ShadeNet is lock-stitched during manufacturing and will not unravel if accidentally torn. In most cases, it can be repaired without replacing or removing the complete ShadeNet.
Q6. Does it protect against hail?
The original application of ShadeNet was to provide cover and protection against hail damage, and our structures are totally suitable for this use. Installing structures against hail and sun damage can also result in a significant reduction of insurance premiums.
Q7. Is a waterproof option available?
ShadeNet comes in Shade Only and Waterproof versions. The application, structure style and size will determine if waterproof is available.
Q8. Can it be used in snow climates?
The standard ShadeNet profile is not suitable for areas with heavy snowfall, since the slope isn't steep enough to avoid snow build-up. The solution is to either remove and store the ShadeNet during winter months, or design a steeper-pitched ShadeNet.
